Fit & Active Session Plan for Health Week 13.7.12


Preparation: Year 1 x 30 children year 2 x 18 children CONES – 4 x balloons x oppies - PARACHUTE - HOOPS

OBJECTIVE

TEACHING POINTS & EQUIPMENT

Start 40 mins each session Warm Up – Aerobic warm up – follow the leader hoops 10 mins

Calf, hamstring and quad stretches

Introduction – “Sharon” - Have safety zone laid out and children to run in and out of the cones if really can’t keep still. Number all the children 1 – 4. Colour bands if available 4 colours. Split into 4 zones. Stay within own areas.

Cone off large square Drinks station Follow the leader to music – hoop game Number 1, 2 3 4

       

Intergalactic Relays 20 mins

Fun fun fun! Up Periscope Dive Black Hole Attack Attack!

Attn to safety – do not kick or pull anyone off - sit slightly forward with feet further forward than knees.

Oppies 4 x hoops Cones

Drink break

Balloon relay

Keepy uppy Pass over head - relay

   

Parachute 10 mins

 

Parachute. Play popcorn colour game - spiders cat and mouse duck duck goose

Our Children's centres are open to all parents, carers and children and many of the services are free. You can get help and advice on child and family. We welcome Information on the core purpose of our Children's Centres and an opportunity to share your views to contribute to its development. Feel Free to drop into Byron's Children's Centre, with play, advice and activities that cost next to nothing.

Byron's Children Centre are open 49 weeks of the year and that includes all school holidays except Christmas.

Most activities and sessions are free and in term time sessions are for under 5’s but in the holidays we cater for children up to the age of 7 years old.

 

Byron's Children Centre is currently run by Sure Start.

During the normal school week there are 21 hours and 15 minutes of teaching time in the Infant department and 23 hours and 30 minutes in the Junior department. This does not include registration, assembly or morning break. This is in line with the Secretary of State’s recommendations.
